Devotional Day 3 - The Mind of Maturity

Jul 9, 2026    Pastor Larry Skero Jr

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥: Paul gives us a filter for our thought life: whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good report, excellent, and worthy of praise—dwell on these things. Our minds are battlegrounds, and what we allow to occupy our thoughts shapes our character and actions. This isn't about ignoring problems but about choosing what deserves our mental energy. When we fill our minds with godly things, we practice what we've learned in Christ. Notice Paul says "practice these things"—spiritual maturity requires intentional, repeated action. We don't accidentally become like Christ; we become like Him by deliberately focusing on Him and His truth. The promise is beautiful: "the God of peace will be with you." Peace isn't found in perfect circumstances but in a mind anchored to Christ. What thought patterns need to change in your life? What needs to occupy more space in your thinking?
