Devotional Day 5 - Giving That Glorifies God

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥: Paul addresses the Philippians' generosity with remarkable perspective. Though he received their gifts, he emphasizes that he wasn't seeking the gift itself but "the profit which increases to your account." Their giving wasn't primarily about meeting Paul's needs—God had already supplied those. Rather, their sacrifice was "a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God." This transforms how we view generosity. When we give our time, talent, and treasure, we're not just helping others; we're building an eternal account and worshiping God. Paul describes their gift as worship—a sweet-smelling offering to the Lord. The promise follows: "My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." God doesn't need our resources, but He invites us to participate in His kingdom work. How are you sharing with others? Are you building an eternal account through sacrificial love and generosity?
